This book is designed to be understandable and interesting without being overly simplistic. Topics addressed include an overview of basic chemistry; matter and the basis of its physical nature and behavior; organic chemistry; biological chemistry; the chemistry of water, soil, and air; industrial chemistry; toxicological chemistry as it pertains to occupational health and human exposure to pollutants and toxicants; energy; and nuclear energy; nuclear waste, and applications of nuclear science in areas such as tracing pesticide degradation, nuclear medicine, and nuclear wastes.
