A tubular conduit connection is described comprising a first tubular member formed with threads and an annular stop shoulder, a second tubular member formed with threads dimensioned for sealing cooperation with the threads of the first member and a annular cooperating shoulder positioned so as to abut the stop shoulder upon full makeup of the connection. The improvement being: the cooperating shoulder being evenly formed with peaks and valleys such that only the peaks may contact the stop shoulder; the peaks being of such dimension that movement from first contact of the peaks with the stop shoulder to full makeup will wipe the peaks clear of any fluid present to thereby establish metal-to-metal contact between the peaks and the stop shoulder.
