Parity nonconservation effects in two-photon transitions 1s/sub() 1/2/..-->..2p/sub() 1/2/ and 2s/sub() 1/2/..-->..2p/sub() 3/2/ in a hydrogen atom arising if the neutral weak currents do not is 10/sup -8/--10/sup -9/. However, in the case of absorption of photons with equal energies and parallel or antiparallel momenta in the transition 1s/sub() 1/2/..-->..2p/sub() 1/2/ the magnitude of these effects increases and attains values of 10/sup -4/--10/sup -6/.
