High precision /sup 85/Kr monitor

The development of a /sup 85/Kr off-gas monitor for nuclear fuel reprocessing plants is presented. Discussed are the parameters used in the design of the monitor, including the sensitivity, the dynamic measurement range, and the radionuclide composition of the off-gas stream. Detailed are the associated isokinetic sampling system, the components of the monitor, and the data acquisition microprocessor. Lastly, /sup 85/Kr releases measured during in-plant demonstration of the monitor are compared with known /sup 85/Kr releases.
