A convenient compilation of summaries of the individual research projects that constitute the Applied Mathematical Sciences research subprogram managed by the Director, Scientific Computing Staff, Office of the Director of Energy Research, Department of Energy, is given. This new office, organized in 1984, consists of the applied mathematical sciences research activity formerly under the Division of Engineering, Mathematical and Geosciences, Office of Basic Energy Sciences, Office of Energy Research, and the management of the expanded National Magnetic Fusion Energy Computer Network formerly under the Office of Magnetic Fusion Energy.
