This patent describes a drill bit. It comprises: a bit body, including: a main body portion; a protuberant body portion extending forward, to a free end thereof, from the main body portion; and a fluid flow passage defined through the main and protuberant body portions; a first cutting member disposed on the main body portion; a second cutting member disposed on the protuberant body portion; first fluid course means on the main body portion for defining a first fluid course including a first throat, disposed in front of the first cutting member, and further including a first, diffuser, extending from the first throat. The first throat communicating with the fluid flow passage; and second fluid course means on the protuberant body portion for defining a second fluid course including a second throat, disposed in front of the second cutting member, and further including a second diffuser, extending from the second throat. The second throat communicating with the fluid flow passage.
