Classical and quantal chaos in the collective dynamics of nuclei

In this paper, the onset of chaos in the collective dynamics of nuclei is studied in the framework of the interacting boson model. Classical chaos is measured throughout the general parameter space of the Hamiltonian. Analysis of quantal fluctuations of the spectrum and of the electromagnetic B(E2) intensities shown strong correlations with the classical results.
