This patent describes a multimode infinitely variable traction roller transmission. It includes a housing; coaxial input and output shafts rotatable supported in the housing; a parallel transmission shaft rotatably supported in the housing is parallel spaced relationship with the input and output shafts, the parallel transmission shaft being operatively connected to the input shaft for rotation therewith; two toric infinitely variable traction roller transmission structures including inner and outer toric discs associated with the parallel shaft, the infinitely variable traction roller transmission structures having their axially outer toric disc mounted for rotation with the parallel transmission shaft and their inner toric discs mounted on a first hollow transmission shaft surrounding the parallel transmission shaft between the toric traction roller transmission structures.
