Composites both high temperature and high performance are the subject of the symposium presented in this book continue to be at the forefront of materials research and development, fundamentally as well as with a view toward future generations of aerospace structures, propulsion devices, and energy conversion systems. The aim of this symposium was to bring together researchers from diverse disciplines to compare their latest results concerning the synthesis, structure-property relationships, and mechanics of metal, intermetallic, glass, and ceramic matrix composites.
