Thermophysical measurements on solid and liquid rhenium

A fast resistive heating technique was used to measure such thermophysical data of solid and liquid rhenium as enthalpy, specific heat, thermal volume expansion, and electrical resistivity. The measurements are performed with heating rates of slightly more than 10/sup 9/K s/sup -1/ up to states of superheated liquid rhenium (7500 K).
