Economics and global change: The FY 1993 research program on the economics of global change. A supplement to the US President's FY 1993 budget and a companion document to our changing planet

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6904846
The report identifies three critical thrust areas for Fiscal Year 1993: (1) global economic models for the analysis of global environmental change, (2) uncertainty and the value of information, and (3) the economic effects of global change. Each thrust area identified in the year's program fills a critical need as the authors consider policy responses to global change. Our Nation's environmental and economic well-being is integrally linked to the actions and well-being of the rest of the world. Improved economic models are essential to improve understanding of these links and to the ability of the United States to develop and negotiate effective and cost-efficient global environmental strategies.
