Agricultural pesticide use in coastal areas: A national summary. Final report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6901339
The information in the report can be used to help target areas for additional monitoring, research, assessment, and management efforts that appear most likely to be affected by the agricultural application of the inventoried pesticides. The use estimates and seasonal application can help managers and researchers to decide which pesticides to monitor, and the time of year the pesticides and associated impacts are more likely to be found. Although agriculturally applied pesticides are only one type of stress to which estuarine systems are exposed, it is important to identify and understand the significance of these contaminants in the estuarine environment. By making the best use of the available data, informed decisions regarding resource management and research priorities can be made to protect and restore the Nation's estuarine resources.
