Elementary processes in the catalytic combustion of methane (mechanism, intermediates and controlling reactions). Annual report Oct 82-Sep 83

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6901336

The surface reactions involved in the catalytic oxidation of methane have been investigated using single crystal metal surfaces and supported metal crystallites. Transient techniques have been used to explore the role of reaction intermediates. The decomposition of methanol and formaldehyde has been studied to identify possible surface species involved in methane oxidation.
