This paper presents an approach for the dynamic stability analysis of power systems possibly including dc facilities and static Var equipments. For illustrating a typical application of the computer program described in the paper, a system is selected which includes a dc tie interconnecting two large ac networks, and static compensators which are used to regulate ac voltages. Synchronous generators in the network on the inverter-side are dedicated to the interconnection. Regulators to damp out oscillations of the dedicated generators are investigated with eigenvalue analysis and Bode plots which are automatically generated by the program upon request.
