Electrochromic characteristics of high-density lithium incorporation into thin WO/sub 3/ films

Electrochromic coloration characteristics of thin WO/sub 3/ films have been studied under Li/sup +/ ion insertion. It has been found that beyond certain charge densities of Li/sup +/ insertion there is an actual reduction in the optical density of the system, limiting the reversible electrochromic performance of thin WO/sub 3/ films.
