Reformed front contact current collector grid and cell interconnect for a photovoltaic cell module
A photovoltaic module is described comprising: a plurality of individual photovoltaic cell strips, each of the cell strip having an electrically conductive substrate, a semiconductor body deposited on the substrate, and a transparent electrically conductive layer deposited on the semiconductor body; unitary grid and interconnect means for collecting current from the strip and interconnecting adjacent ones of the strip, including a current collecting grid section and an interconnector unitary grid and interconnect means including a current collecting bus. The grid section comprises fingers extending from the bus, the interconnector extending from the current collecting bus; an electrically conductive adhesive disposed between and electrically connecting the grid to the transparent electrically conductive layer; and, means for electrically connecting the interconnector of one of the cell strips to the electrically conductive substrate of an adjacent one of the cell strips.
