This patent describes an idling speed-up control apparatus in an internal combustion engine comprising: an electric generator driven by the internal combustion engine; a load detecting means for detecting the value of an electric load connected to the electric generator; an idling speed-up means for stepwise increasing an idling speed of the engine; and a control means for causing the idling speed-up means to operate when detecting value of the electric load continuously remains above a predetermined value for a predetermined length of waiting time such that the larger the detected value of the electric load, the shorter the length of the waiting time.
