The development program for a residential gas-fired absorption heat pump is described. The unit, based on a new absorption pair, is designed to supply 36,000 Btu/Hr cooling and 90,000 Btu/Hr heating. Component and system development are described as are the physical-thermodynamic properties of the fluids.
