Sufficient and necessary conditions for dynamic stable telescopic resonators

Journal Article · · Chin. Phys. Lasers; (United States)

Using g'- and g/sup */-parameter equivalent resonators and expressing the beam radius at the output mirror by normalized refractive power D/sub n/ and parameter A, the sufficient and necessary conditions for dynamics stable telescopic-resonators in TEM/sub 00/-mode operaton is derived for the first time. Analytical expressions of normalized refractive power D/sub n/, thermal focal length f, and g/sup *//sub 1/, g/sup *//sub 2/ parameters of dynamic stable telescopic resonators are deduced. Results obtained in this work can be easily generalized to multi-element resonators with many internal lenses (one of which is a thermal lens).
