The equations governing the static and dynamic behavior of a superconducting ring, interrupted by N Josephson junctions and containing initial trapped flux, have been developed. In order to follow the phase and voltage activity at each of the junctions, a numerical simulation of the system has been implemented. This computational model confirmed that, by the application of a suitable bias flux, bundles of flux quanta could be induced to enter or leave the loop. Phase winding was seen to occur only at the weakest of the links, except when the bias was changed impulsively.
