[ital CP] asymmetries in neutral [ital B]-meson decays

The formalism of the [ital CP]-violating asymmetries in neutral [ital B]-meson decays is discussed in detail. The standard model predictions of the [ital CP]-violating effects are estimated. The implications of these predictions are then intensively analyzed in the phenomenology of the asymmetries in semileptonic decays, in the decay to a final [ital CP] eigenstate, and in the decay of [ital B][sup 0][ital [bar B]] [sup 0] into two [ital CP] eigenstates in view of the next planned [ital B] factories.
