Introduction of cutting ceramics in plants

Cutting ceramics of aluminum oxide Al203 produced in the form of types V3, VOK 60, and VOK 63 triangular, square, and rhombic, by the Dnepr Sintered Carbide Plant have wide use in plants. Tools of cutting ceramics are used in mass and large lot production. The design of ceramic inserts does not differ from that of cutters designed for holding sintered carbide inserts. Cutting ceramics are used at various specified plants for machining gray irons and calendars rolls of chilled cast iron, for drilling satellite gears, and in outside machining of pins, gate valves, shafts, and rollers. Tests conducted show that ceramic inserts reduce labor costs by 1.52 times and increases tool life 2-3 times.
