Power supply system for continuously energizing a D. C. load

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6866546
This patent describes a power supply system for D.C. load. It comprises: a D.C. electrical load; a battery means connected to the load to energize the same with D.C. voltage; a central processing unit connected to the load to energize the same with D.C. voltage; a central processing unit connected to the battery means to monitor the D.C. voltage; a starter motor connected to the central processing unit and energized by the battery means when the D.C. voltage of the battery means falls below the predetermined magnitude; an engine mechanically could to the starter motor for cranking by the starter motor; a fuel supply connected to the engine to energize the same; an alternator mechanically driven by the engine to generate A.C. voltage when the engine is running; a rectifier connected in circuit with the alternator and the battery means to apply rectified D.C. voltage to the battery means for recharging the same; and a tachometer connected to the engine and the central processing unit for monitoring running speed of the engine.
