The properties of aqueous solutions of potassium pentaborate, tetraborate, and peroxyborate were studied. For comparison, the properties of boric acid under analogous conditions were studied using conductometric and potentiometric methods. The behavior of the solutions was analogous when they were stored up to 60 days. The specific electrical conductivity of the studied borate solutions increased with increasing concentration. The effect of temperature on the electrical conductance of borate solutions is also identical and does not depend on their nature. The dependence of the logarithm of the equivalent conductance on the reciprocal of temperature has a linear character for all the borate. It may be considered that in a solution of the potassium borates there is an equilibrium between the tetraborate, pentaborate, and metaborate anions. 5 figures. (DP)
