Efficiency optimization for FEL oscillators
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6861540
Using a normalized set of nonlinear equations, which describe an free-electron-laser oscillator, the efficiency of energy extraction from the electron beam to the radiation can be optimized. The optimum values of this efficiency are presented for an (a) untapered and for a (b) tapered wiggler FEL oscillator.
