Closed orbit distortions due to survey and alignment errors in PEP I

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6860955

This note presents the results of computer simulations of the closed orbit distortions in PEP I. A computer program ALIGN was written to simulate the expected survey and alignment errors and to calculate the resulting orbit distortions. The goal of the survey and alignment effort is to provide a sufficiently accurate magnet alignment so that PEP I can store some circulating beam with little or no beam steering. Once some beam has been stored, the closed orbit distortions can be measured and corrected. 3 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab.
