Title: High energy e/sup +/-e/sup -/ collider using an inverse free electron laser accelerator

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6860631

Among the possible acceleration schemes the ones using the very large electric field obtainable in laser beams, have been receiving much attention. In this Workshop laser accelerators were divided in three groups: media, near field and far field accelerators. In the last group one finds the Inverse Free Electron Laser Accelerator (IFELA). The laser accelerator scheme is discussed, and it is shown that it can be used to design a 300 GeV electron-positron collider with a luminosity of 10/sup 32/ cm/sup -2/s/sup -1/, and an average accelerating field between 200 and 100 MeV/m.
