Thermodynamic studies of concanavalin A dimer-tetramer equilibria

We have studied the reversible dimer-tetramer association equilibria of the jack bean lectin concanavalin A. Equilibrium constants were measured by the high speed sedimentation equilibrium technique as a function of pH, temperature, and CaCl/sub 2/ concentration. Both commercial and purified preparations of concanavalin A were studied.
