OSMOND: A gridless, all-angle PC board routing system

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6852813

This paper describes a computer-aided design system for routing printed circuit boards. This system unlike most others, permits all-angle routing of circuit paths and is completely gridless. It combines the flexibility of an interactive router with powerful features found on automatic routers. The system also easily accommodates various pad sizes and shapes and contains other features which facilitate the placement and routing of high-quality printed circuit boards. The system has been used at our facility to produce numerous multilayer printed circuit boards (including surface-mount boards) for both ground and space-flight applications. 5 refs., 11 figs.
