Bean's, Kim's, and the exponential-law critical-state models have been used to calculate the magnetization curves {ital M}({ital H}) of hard superconductors assumed to have an infinitely long geometry with rectangular cross section of 2{ital a}{times}2{ital b}. Some computed {ital M}({ital H}) curves are given to illustrate our analytical results for different {ital b}/{ital a} and other relevant parameters. These results can be satisfactorily applied to many experimental data, particularly in the study of high-{ital T}{sub {ital c}} superconductors. A brief analysis on this is also given.
