The authors suppose that the charge transfer gap decreases with doping resulting eventually in overlap between the electron and hole bands. The two frequencies seen in Cu NQR both in La{sub 2{minus}x}Sr{sub x}CuO{sub 4} and in La{sub 2}CuO{sub 4+{delta}} are therefore ascribed to the presence of Cu configurations d{sup 9} (local spin) and d{sup 10} (electrons). In an alternative approach to the three band model they find the positions for electron and hole pockets at the X and {Gamma} points of the brillouin Zone, correspondingly.
