Electronic structure of the new high-T/sub c/ superconductors Tl/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/CuO/sub 6/, Tl/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Cu/sub 2/O/sub 8/, Tl/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Ca/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 10/, and Tl/sub 2/BaCa/sub 3/Cu/sub 4/O/sub 12/

We discuss the electronic structure of the first four members of the high-T/sub c/ superconductor family Tl/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Ca/sub L//sub -1/Cu/sub L/O/sub 4+2//sub L/, where L is the number of CuO/sub 2/ layers. Using a simplified BCS-type model, we relate T/sub c/ to L using the partial density of states of the CuO/sub 2/ layers as the physical link. According to our model, the pure phase of Tl/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Ca/sub 3/Cu/sub 4/O/sub 12/ (L = 4) would have a value of T/sub c/ in the range 135 to 165 K.
