The coke battery with ovens 41.6 m/sup 3/ in volume is a highly productive unit and operates in a stable manner. In the adoption of a battery with ovens of this size and its operation, one must carefully maintain the established coking regime and the designed charge composition. In order to improve the efficiency of the battery it is necessary to continue work to improve the hydraulic system of the coke machines, the solid state control systems, the door designs and the mechanization of laborious operations, especially cleaning up the spilled coke.
