An electrochemical battery cell comprises a generally cylindrical casing and a stacked electrode assembly in the casing. The assembly includes several disk-shaped first electrodes of one polarity, at least one disk-shaped second electrode of opposite polarity between the first electrodes, and disk-shaped separators between the first and second electrodes. At least one of the separators has a marginal tab bent over in axial direction of the stack and overlying the periphery of the second electrode. A conductor ribbon interconnects the first electrodes alongside the stack, the ribbon registering with the tab and held by the tab out of contact with the second electrode.
