Depression of superfluid density by velocity in liquid /sup 4/He

The dependence of te superfluid density rho/sub s/ on velocity v/sub n/ approx. = 0) has been measured for the first time by observing the shift with amplitude of the resonant frequency of a superfluid Helmholtz resonator. The results agree with experimental and calibration error with the theoretical prediction of Khalatnikov.
