The adiabatic interaction of waves with particles in steady-state turbulence does not result in diffusion of these particles across the magnetic field, according to an analysis based on the quasilinear equations for the particle distribution function. The relative directions of the turbulent particle fluxes are determined through a qualitative analysis of turbulent diffusion in a multicomponent plasma. A general expression is also found for the particle fluxes. This expression takes into account the induced scattering of waves by particles. A method is worked out for finding the quantities which appear in this expression for the case in which there are particle sources in the plasma. Turbulent diffusion in a thermonuclear plasma is treated as an example.
