Commercial potential of wood gasification and its application in New York state. Final report

This report describes low-Btu wood gasification technology for boiler retrofit, the wood supply situation in New York State, the economics of wood gasification in typical applications, and environmental aspects of the use of wood for fuel. Comparisons are made among natural gas, distillate fuel oil, 6 fuel oil, and low-Btu wood gas. The report indicates that wood gasification would be profitable for firms and institutions with moderate to high load factors located within 50 miles of a wood supply.
