Mass predictions by modified ensemble averaging
The technique of ensemble averaging of mass tables is used to obtain a set of mass predictions based on the Garvey-Kelson relationships along with their intrinsic uncertainties. Predicted masses are presented for nuclei in the ranges 2less than or equal toZless than or equal to109, 4less than or equal toNless than or equal to157, and 7less than or equal toAless than or equal to265. These predictions include also Z-rich nuclei whose values are derived from an extended symmetric mass relationship with phenomenological Coulomb corrections. However, Z = N = odd nuclei where Zless than or equal to27 are omitted from the calculations. The standard deviations of the fit to masses that are known to better than 250-keV accuracy is 219 keV. copyright 1988 Academic Press, Inc.
