Spin reorientation transitions (SRTs) in Nd{sub 0.5}Er{sub 1.5}Fe{sub 14{minus}{ital x}}M{sub {ital x}}B, where M=Al or Co and {ital x}=0--3, were determined by ac susceptibility measurements. In Nd{sub 0.5}Er{sub 1.5}Fe{sub 14}B, the SRT is observed at about 195 K. The addition of Al was found to shift the SRT to lower temperatures, presumably due to the weakening of the rare earth--transition metal exchange interaction. For M being Al and {ital x}=2, an additional SRT is observed at about 25 K, possibly due to a change of cone angle. Similar reductions in the SRT temperature were observed with Co substitution.
