Operators remain busy with gas development work in U. K. North Sea

The U.K. sector of the North Sea is experiencing the most active gas field development since the initial boom that followed discovery of gas in the southern basin in the 1960s. Nine new gas projects, all in the southern basin, have been approved by the U.K. Department of Energy since the beginning of this year. The author discusses the work being done in gas gathering and gas reserves, development drilling, and Northern development.
