Phase equilibria and electrical conductivities in the HfO/sub 2/-Er/sub 2/O/sub 3/-Ta/sub 2/O/sub 5/ system

This paper discusses phase equilibria and electrical conductivities in a ternary oxide alloy system based on Hf oxide. The limits of the single-phase fluorite structure and rare-earth-oxide C-type structure solid solutions in this system are reported, as are the total ac bulk electrical conductivities of several of the fluorite structure compositions for temperatures ranging from 500 to 1050/sup 0/C and for oxygen partial pressures ranging from 1 to 10/sup -20/ atm.
