This patent describes a mill embodying a classifier and operative both to grind material and to separate thereafter the ground material into a larger particle fraction and a product smaller particle fraction comprising: a. a mill housing; b. a material feeder tube having an upper and lower end supported in the mill housing, the material feeder tube being operative to feed material to be ground into the interior of the mill housing; c. grinding means supported in the mill housing in spaced relation to the material feeder tube so as to be positioned to receive the material to be ground from the material feeder tube, the grinding means being operative to effectuate the grinding therewithin of the material fed thereto; d. classifier means comprising a downwardly converging cone shaped element supported within the housing in concentric alignment with the material feeder tube and having an opening at its lower converging end. The cone element defines an annular area between the mill housing and itself; and e. the classifier means further comprising jacket means supported in the mill housing in concentric alignment with the lower end of the cone element such that an annular passage is established between the lower end of the cone element and the jacket means.
