The cross section of the {sup 99m}{Tc}(n,{gamma}){sup 100}{Tc} reaction has been measured by means of an activation method for the purpose to obtain fundamental data for the research of the nuclear transmutation of long-lived waste nuclides. Targets containing about 370 kBq of {sup 99}{Tc} were irradiated for 2 m with reactor neutrons. The neutron fluxes were monitored by Co/Al and Au/Al alloy wires. Intensities of the 540-keV and the 591-keV gamma-rays from {sup 100}{Tc} were measured by a HPGe detector and decay of the intensities were followed. A half-life of the decay was 15.5 {+-} 0.1 s. Specific activity of {sup 99}{Tc} in the targets were obtained by the liquid scintillation counting method. Then, the amount of {sup 99}{Tc} in the targets were determined. A cross section of {sup 99}{Tc}(n,{gamma}) {sup 100}{Tc} reaction was determined from the number of {sup 99}{Tc} atoms in the target, the activity of the produced {sup 100}{Tc} and the neutron flux data. The cross section obtained is 22.7 {+-} 1.1 b and is almost same as the values reported in the references. The resonance integral was also measured by a Cd-ratio method and is 395 {+-} 34 b.
