Cross sections, analyzing powers, and spin-rotation-depolarization observables for 500 MeV proton elastic scattering from sup 12 C and sup 13 C

New differential cross section ({ital d}{sigma}/{ital d}{Omega}), analyzing power ({ital A}{sub {ital y}}), and spin-rotation-depolarization ({ital D}{sub {ital i}{ital j}}) data for 500 MeV {ital {rvec p}}+{sup 12}C,{sup 13}C elastic scattering are reported. The {ital d}{sigma}/{ital d}{Omega} and {ital A}{sub {ital y}} data span scattering angles from approximately 5{degree}--37{degree} c.m., while the {ital D}{sub {ital i}{ital j}} data cover 5{degree}--26{degree} c.m. Except at the largest angles, statistical errors are typically {plus minus}1% for {ital d}{sigma}/{ital d}{Omega}, {plus minus}(0.01--0.02) for {ital A}{sub {ital y}}, and {plus minus}(0.03--0.05) for the {ital D}{sub {ital i}{ital j}} observables. The data are compared to predictions of Dirac phenomenology and the relativistic-impulse-approximation--Dirac-equation model.
