Lattice vibrational behavior of the exchange enhanced superconductor U/sub 6/Fe

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6827716
The temperature dependence of the Moessbauer effect has been studied at /sup 57/Fe nuclei in the exchange-enhanced superconductor U/sub 6/Fe (T/sub c/ = 3.76+-0.17K). The nonharmonic variation in shift vs temperature is interpreted as due to changes in electronic structure below 100K. Phonon hardening below 100K is also inferred from the temperature dependence of the Debye-Waller factor.
