Influence of s electrons of the outer shell on the rate of the conversion transition between hyperfine-structure states in the ''nucleus'' of a mu-nucleon atom

An external magnetic field affects the rate of conversion Auger transition between states of the hyperfine structure of a mesic atom with the ejection of an electron from the outer paramagnetic s shell of the mu-nucleon atom. This effect can be used to measure the difference between the rates of K capture of a ..mu../sup -/ meson from states with different total spin I=i +- 1/2 of the mesic atom, which is determined by the Gamow-Teller and Fermi weak-interaction constants.
