Resonant effects in the reaction /sup 2/4Mg (/sup 1/6O,/sup 1/2C)/sup 2/8Si

Excitation functions were measred at forward angles for the reaction /sup 2/4Mg(/sup 1/6O, /sup 1/2C)/sup 2/8Si to the ground and first excited states of /sup 2/8Si. Resonancelike structures were found in both excitation functions with pronounced maxima at center-of-mass energies of approx. 28, approx. 31, and approx. 34 MeV. Angular distributions obtained at these three energies are fitted rather well with P/sub L//sup 2/(costheta with L = 21, 23, and 25, respectively.
