Natural gas delivery and curtailment levels and alternate fuel strategies of large users of natural gas are presented. The data are taken from U.S. government reports and organized for easy reference. The information covers the 12 months ending on March 31, 1978. The information is organized first by two digit industrial reference (SIC code), then by state, then by county. If a plant is located in an area not legally incorporated as a county (such as an independent city in Virginia or U.S. Census Bureau region in Alaska), the name of the relevant location is given. Suppliers listed include all interstate natural gas pipeline companies regulated by the Federal government as well as intrastate pipelines, private distributors, municipalities and other suppliers. All industrial and other consumers including commercial establishments and public service institutions (such as hospitals and schools) which qualify as large end users are listed in this report. Large end users are consumers whose combined deliveries and curtailments equal 100,000 Mcf per year. Listings include users facing curtailments and users not facing curtailments. Some users are listed more than once. This ordinarily means they have more than one delivery contract. Data for each listing reflect curtailment or noncurtailment relating to each contract. Service is either firm or interruptible as defined by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
