Optical assay technology for safeguards

Research conducted in the Ames Laboratory Nuclear Safeguards and Security Program during the period July 1, 1991 to September 30, 1991 is reviewed. Current work in applying optical spectroscopy to the determination of actinides and related elements in the gas phase is discussed.
