Piezoelectric properties of (Pb/sub 1-x/Ba/sub x/)/sub 2. 5-y/Na/sub 2y/Nb/sub 5/O/sub 15/ ceramic in the morphotropic region

This article examines the effect of the sodium content of solid solutions of the title ceramic, obtained by hot pressing, on its piezoelectric properties and Curie temperature. It is established that the addition of NaNbO/sub 3/ to the morphotropic compositions increases the Curie point by about 100 C. There is then an increase in the ferrorigidity of the ceramic. The greatest temperature stability of the piezomodulus is found in compositions corresponding to the edge of the morphotropic region on the side of the rhombic phase with a (010) polar orientation.
